What do you like and hate about China?

If you know China in some way, either you have been there or not, what do you like or hate about China? Can be about the people or the country.

When I was still in high school we had an American teacher who was very nice. She told us that she loved China in every way except when the people spit in public and when people called her 'Laowai'.

Another time was when I was chatting with an American military personnel in one of the South Korea military bases that while he didn't have much to either like or hate about China, he believed people in China was living in the past, everything they talked about was from the long long past like it's still true or something.

Some of my other American friends I met on the Internet either didn't know much about China or hated it for taking everything (from US and the world) but giving nothing back.

So what you think about China? What do you like or hate about it?
